WHAT RIHANNA MEANS TO ME

3:16:00 PM

[Here's my first, out of hundreds to come, artist feature. Since she's making a lot of noise now and someone asked me to do this. She deserves my post. ]

Yeah baby. It's R-I-H-A-N-N-A.

Background (Wikipedia):

Robyn Rihanna Fenty born February 20, 1988 better known as
simply Rihanna is a R&B recording artist. Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, Rihanna moved to the United States at
the age of 16 to pursue a recording
career under the guidance of record
producer Evan Rogers. She subsequently signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for then-label head Jay-Z.

Rihanna has sold more than 15 million albums and 45 million singles making her one of the best selling artists of all time. She has achieved ten number-one singles on the Billboard
Hot 100 since first appearing on the
chart on June 11, 2005, which is the
most by any artist during that time span. As of March 18, 2011, Rihanna has sold approximately 6
million album units and over 28 million digital singles in the US. She has sold over 10 million records in the UK. Billboard named Rihanna the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade. She has received several accolades, including the 2007 World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year, and the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Female Solo Artist. She has also amassed a total of four Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards , and fifteen Billboard Music Awards.

The Catch:

It has been a decade that
LilMissSunshine has been living in my music playlist. Definitely, what
Barbados lifted to Hollywood
spawned a lot of hits that even the sun could not afford to miss. She has produced 5 albums: Music of the Sun, A Girl Like Me (2006), Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), Rated R (2009), and Loud (2010).
She has been a major icon in Hollywood history. Her style, her voice, her fashion, her artistry and her she-got-it-all personality make even the most impatient man listen to her music.
Here is my top 15 list of Rihanna’s songs:

15. Only Girl in the World-
This song exploded 2010 speakers. I keep on
hearing this song on restaurants.

14. Don’t Stop the Music-
I definitely can’t stop the music with Rihanna. This song initiated my noticing of Rihanna’s bold and dark lyrics which I coincidentally look for an artist.

13. Umbrella-
This, as we all know, let Rihanna be labeled as Little Miss Sunshine. Jay-Z has really made the good girl go mad.

12. S&M-
“I may be bad but I’m perfectly good.”A song of freedom. I love this.

11. Fading-
I always sing the lines “fe- e-ed away, away, away”everytime I rush to my Psych20 class. I feel
like I also fade with the tune.

10. Run This Town (feat. Jay-Z and Kanye West)-
I just think this is Rihanna’s darkest song. with the darkest music video. I love dark. :D

9. Pon de Replay-
The first song I knew Rihanna sang. It was on Bring It On: All or Nothing that I heard this
one. This has also been a dance craze way back High School.

8. Hate That I love You (feat. Neyo)-
I could never hate this song because I used to text someone every morning that I hate that I love her.

7. Take A Bow-
when the award for the best liar goes to me. I badly want
to take a bow.

6. What’s My Name-
Given Drake’s reluctantly reliable rapping, I just can’t bear how Rihanna gives this song a
deeper meaning. Though I felt like its music video is not that impressive. It’s at least I felt like this song focuses on REST.

5. Disturbia-
It’s like I am going insane yeah. The thief of the night. The disease of the mind. I just put on my break lights. Thanks to this song, I saw how Rihanna explains another way of appreciating Beauty.

4. Hatin’ On the Club-
It is the first ever, I think, acoustic song I heard from Rihanna. It stayed on my playlist for over 3 years but every time I hear it, nothing’s changed.

3. Who’s That Chick (feat. David Guetta)-
David Guetta is a magician. He added power to the way Rihanna
blows speakers up. I guess I consider this as the perfect Rihanna Disco Song.

2. Love the Way You Lie Part II (feat. Eminem)-
The reason why Love the Way you Lie PArt 1 didn’t make it to this list is because of the existence of this song. The words are perfect.
The lines are unexplainable. The
thoughts are beautifully crafted. It is I think Rihanna’s most challenging song. Vocally. Falsetto is the keyword.

1. California King Bed-
A song which I consider would never leave my playlist. I demand nothing yet Rihanna supplied me with this adult song that makes me think more open-mindedly. I can relate to the song because it is for
those who are separated by distance *emo mode*but still hope that everything is gonna be fine.

[This list can vary thru time. They even change every day. But as long as there is good music, there will always be Rihanna.]
